We are a small private UK limited company registered in London in July 2023 and based exclusively in South Wales UK.
We started out with a plan to offer an arcade gaming room for private party hire experiences right here in our home town of Cwmbran (The Valley of the Crows), in the County of Torfaen.
We wanted to put a little arcade magic into a private and cozy free-to-play setting, with our DIY arcade cabinets, gaming consoles, gaming PCs, VR games, driving rigs and even a full motion VR rollercoaster simulator, (which also supports a VR fan made re-imagining of the retired Universal Studios ‘Back to the Future - The Ride’).
Our plan was to initially set this up in summer 2020, but the dreaded Covid 19 smashed through the world like a wrecking ball leaving the idea broken and abandoned amongst the rubble of the many small business that had been destroyed by the first lockdown.
In the summer of 2023 after a long struggle with what to do next, hope was rebooted. It was finally time to rise from the rubble to revive the business model and even improve it with some of the tech we had acquired over recent years. So we registered the company and started to get everything ready.
During the course of our DIY arcade projects for the new business, we contacted a factory in China who after much negotiation and deliberation on pricing, agreed to supply us with exclusively customised Gun4ir compatible light gun builds with a pay-as-you-go on demand supply model.
After a minor cosmetic failure in the initial prototype build where the recoil slider was 1cm away from the front of the barrel, we decided instead of returning it to the factory to be repaired, it would be quicker to put it up for sale on eBay as spares or repairs instead (potentially saving a 40 day round trip). This lead to so many enquiries from potential buyers that we realised there was clearly a huge gap in the market that was not being filled by the official suppliers.
After eBay proved to be ridiculous on fees that would move the pricing of the guns too high to sell with their whopping 16% fees (approx), it was decided that instead we would design, build and even host our own website and control everything ourselves, NO MORE MIDDLE MEN, so we can keep the price as low as possible for as long as possible while ensuring there was enough to go around… Or at the very least, a lot more than there was before!
